United Research of Anima-Machines, a.k.a. U.R.A.M. has recently released a remarkable study in relation to the discovery of a new inorganic creature. The discovery of this new machine-organism, which lives on urban energy, is sure to cause a sensation amongst urban energy researchers.
According to U.R.A.M., this machine-organism has a system resembling that of plants, which photosynthesize solar energy. It is classified into the female Urbanus, which directly incepts urban energy, and the male Urbanus, which imbibes the electric energy discharged as photons by the female. U.R.A.M. has named this new machine-organism Urbanus, meaning “a lover of the urban”. The female Urbanus, has a shape similar to that of a flower, and when releasing its incepted energy as light it opens its leaf-like body parts. It emits light from the genitals also, from which a great number of electrically-charged particles are released. Male Urbanus which prowl around the female waiting for the moment that light is released, also open their leaf-like body parts to receive the photons.
Urbanus are thought to inhabit the airspace above the city (at about 200M altitude), and therefore are often found at the upper floor of skyscrapers or on their roofs. It is rare that they are found by the city-dwellers of today, who can little afford to enjoy the sight of the sky, but there have been some reports that children have sighted Urbanus in the sky. Urbanus are active during the night time, which means that they are sometimes visible in night time satellite photographs.
Exhibiting a deep-rooted cause-and-effect relationship with urban civilization and human lifestyle, it is imperative that Urbanus be studied further in the future.
In summer, when the atmosphere is teeming with more electrical currents than at any other time of year, a mature Urbanus Female can spawn millions of miniature machines breeze over city street and through the air between skyscrapers like dandelion seeds, the mature Urbanus Male embeds genetic information into their bodies using a strong electrical pulse. The microscopic machines that receive this genetic information successfully develop into the larva of the species. Only one tenth of one percent of these machines becomes female larvae that mature to adulthood. The male larvae grow up in close proximity to mature females. When the males grow to eight inches, they begin meshing their bodies to one another to form a straight line. Together, as soon as ten or more are joined, they become a fully grown adult.
The Urbanus Female Larva typically matures in areas where city energy is plentiful. From the earliest stages of their development, female larvae have the ability to absorb urban energy into their bodies while floating through the air; in return they release energy in the form of light ( photons) back into the atmosphere. This recycling of energy by the Urbanus Female Larva attracts the male larvae of the same species who live in the surrounding area. Because the female larvae have the ability to release only small amounts of photons, there is not enough energy available for all of the male larvae who need it. Eventually, this photon shortage weakens a fraction of the population of male larvae, which hinders their individual growth; the Urbanus Female Larva then absorbs these weakened male bodies into hers to sustain her own development.
